Beck’s Cool Beans Restaurant

Coffee bean enthusiasts should have no difficulty finding a fix at Beck’s Cool Beans Restaurant, Bradenton’s java joint of the moment. Chances are, if you dropped in during the Christmas week, you sampled a peppermint-tinged drink with a seasonal, sugary cookie. Joffrey’s Winter Wonderland flavored coffee in white chocolate, caramel and coconut are touted here, along with an chocolate lattes and jolting espressos.

MANATEE — The economy continued to challenge the local business community in 2009. As the beginning of 2010 approaches, the Herald selected 10 local businesses leaders and owners to reflect on the year and their prospects for the New Year.”

“Werner Beck, owner of Cool Beans Cafe & Arts

Biggest accomplishment in 2009: We moved Cool Beans from 904 Manatee Ave. E. to 611 Manatee Ave. E. and we increased sales by 25 percent thanks to a very solid customer base.

Biggest challenge of 2009: To overcome a severe recession with declining sales in the restaurant business.

New Year’s resolution: We will open a new location at Old Main Street in January 2010. We are going to change our name to Beck’s Restaurant at the Manatee Avenue location and Beck’s Bistro at the downtown location.

Expectations for 2010: Our plan is to hire one more cook and two waitresses and hopefully increase sales by 25 percent again.”

Winter Flavors: Peppermint syrup and Winter Wonderland Coffee

Try our seasonal Peppermint syrup in your favorite hot or cold coffee drink, tea or frappe or as a topping on a piece of cake, muffin or cookie.

We are also featuring fresh brewed Joffrey’s Winter Wonderland flavored coffee, with white chocolate, coconut, caramel and otehr seasonal flavors.
